His profession is recorded in the US census from 1850. Deeds from Plymouth Co. ca 1832  to 1850 do not record a trade for Philo, although the family unit is ID'd through his wife Lucia.

Family unit material from "Lawrence Leach of Salem, MA, Vol. II" by F Phelps Leach, 1925.

1850 US Census from Bridgewater, MA.

A 1833 trade related bill for Philo was recorded in town records

A 9" long beech center bead molding plane has been recorded courtesy of Steve Frazier.

(The presentation of visually based elements (scale imprints, scale drawings, etc.) is a challenge, especially when moving from the printed page to the realm of an electronic medium. For reference, the original GAWP 5, CAWP, BARS and SOJ publications had pages which were 8-1/2" in width.)
